ABOUT BIGFORK DOG TRAINING

Method K9.jpg

Training at Bigfork Dog Training follows a structured, common-sense approach designed to be fair, clear, and effective for both dogs and their handlers. Programs emphasize safety, consistency, and owner education, recognizing that long-term success depends on handler participation, follow-through, and responsible management outside of training sessions.

Tara completed her professional dog training education through Method K9 and is an AKC Approved Evaluator, offering testing for AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC), CGC Urban (CGCU), CGC Advanced (CGCA), and Trick Dog titles.

Bigfork Dog Training operates from a commercial training facility in Flathead County, offering group classes, private training, and behavior modification programs. When appropriate, training may extend into public or community settings to prepare dogs for everyday distractions and real-world expectations. All training is conducted with a strong focus on safety, clear boundaries, and risk awareness for dogs, handlers, and the public.

Tara also holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and is a Certified ATA Instructor, bringing a professional, structured, and accountability-driven approach to every training program.

At Bigfork Dog Training, the mission is to help pet owners develop confident, well-mannered dogs while providing clear expectations, ethical training practices, and a safe learning environment.
